There are many reasons why a person should learn more about physicals if they intend to play school sports. The schools are now requiring them as part of their approach to keep the student athletes healthy and active out on the field of play. Every school wants to make sure that their athletes are able-bodied and able to produce at the highest levels while at the same time enjoying their time and having fun.
What is a Sports Physical?
A sports physical is a physical examination conducted by a medical professional to determine if a patient is physically safe to play a particular sport. We offer this service as part of our commitment to helping our patients live their best lives. We understand that a lot of the patients who come to see us want to receive a sports exam so that they may compete in a sport that they love. We want to be there to support them in that goal.
Questions We May Ask
We conduct a physical examination, but we also ask our patients a series of questions that are designed to help us get a better sense of the medical history of the patient and the patient’s family. These types of things are critically important because one’s medical history often points to one’s medical future, so to speak. As such, we need to know things such as if there is a history of serious illnesses in the family. We may also ask if the patient has experienced symptoms of dizziness, fatigue, or even if they have had past injuries.
Learn More About Yourself
You can gain a lot from these physicals. You can stand to learn a lot more about your own health and how it may impact your participation in a given sport. You may also learn of some health issues that you did not know you had.
If you or a loved one is considering playing a sport, it’s imperative to learn more about school, sports, and camp physicals, which we proudly offer right here at Centro Medico Latino in Charlotte and Monroe. Contact us today to book an appointment.
